Monte Carlo and the surrounding area has many great places to hang out and enjoy a view of the French Riviera as well as the special pink beer.

The nation of Monaco may be small, but its presence is very large given that it is well known for luxury, the Grand Prix and the beautiful Monte Carlo Casino. Within the two square kilometers that make up this nation, there are several places to hang out and have a drink while enjoying views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Monaco Beer

Monaco’s Port Hercule is a place to enjoy a stroll while marveling at the yachts that are docked there. It has also become a place to find a great meal or simply gather with friends for an evening. Route de la Piscine, a street running right along the port, has in recent years become a popular place to hang out at night, particularly for young people.

Brasserie de Monaco is the place to find beer brewed right in Monaco. Five fermenting tanks and four service tanks all make up part of the decor. The micro-brewery uses organic malts and does not filter or pasteurize the “Biere de Monaco.”

The brewery was assigned the task of creating a special brew for the “Princely Wedding” that took place in the summer of 2011. The result was a white beer flavored with cranberries to create a pink color. The beer has been made available at both the Brasserie and at the Fairmont Monte Carlo.

Just two doors down from the Brasserie is Explorer’s Pub, a gastro-pub dedicated to the theme and history of exploration. The theme also follows through onto the menu, which explores new and interesting ways of combining different dishes.

American Sports Bar in Monaco

Fans of American sports or Americans simply longing for home will enjoy visiting Stars n’ Bars for a menu that has U.S. favorites including burgers and fries. Stars n’ Bars has a sports bar theme, including an impressive collection of Grand Prix memorabilia, but it has many other facets as well. Depending on what visitors are looking for, it can be a place to hear live music, play arcade games or let the kids run around in the play area.

The best activity of all may be to simply hang out on the patio with friends while right next to the water of Port Hercule and watch the sun set while enjoying some of the many different beers and other libations that are on the menu.

Drinks with a view

The top floor of the Fairmont Monte Carlo provides stunning views of both the Mediterranean Sea as wells as many landmarks on land. Views in either direction can be enjoyed at the Horizon Deck, Restaurant and Champagne Bar. The outdoor pool also offers excellent views, and at night it turns into a club, so that guests can enjoy a club atmosphere while looking out onto the lights of Monaco.

The Fairmont is also one place, along with the Brasserie de Monaco, to find the special pink beer that was created for the wedding of Prince Albert II and Charlene Wittstock in the summer of 2011.
